The Ukrainian Blood & Honey brand was founded in 2015 and over a two-year period has become a synonym of the brightest and by far the most cheerful fur. Today among its admirers are a singer Beyonce, a million blogger Leandra Medine, top models Winnie Harlow and Gizele Oliveira and more than a dozen of stylists worldwide. However, everything started off small – a scarf collection, which at that time an interior designer Lidiya Pfayfer wanted to do for herself. “I bought fur, came to the masters, recommended by my friends and said: “Cut”. They looked at me as if I was crazy, but did their work. I unexpectedly for myself sold out everything and decided to continue,” – Lidiya Pfayfer recalls the Blood & Honey moment of birth. Then fur coat collection followed in which the designer played with lollipop tones – frosty blue, lilac and sweet pink. One of the key inspirational sources for Lidiya Pfayfer are pop-art and art. Both directions are filled with colour and unusual combinations, being very close for Blood & Honey aesthetics. For example, the first male fur collection was inspired by rock musicians images and was shown in the framework of Art Basel Miami in December 2016, and the current fall-winter collection became the dedication to David Hockney’s creativity – one of the most in-demand British artists. Pfayfer was inspired by the coloristics of his works and transferred it to the laconic fur coats and jackets.
With every new collection the brand Blood & Honey from one side proves that fur – is not boring and not pretentious, and from another side turns its clothing items into real works of art, the creation of which takes hundreds of hours. For instance, the creation of I Kiss Better Than I Cook clutch takes about a week of three masters’ work. “We will continue to experiment and surprise. – Pfayfer tells. – And also to lift the spirits and provoke, but the way how we are going to do it, we will show pretty soon”.
